Having listened to the views of players on this season’s Under-21 Premier Development Tour, the EPSB tournament team has decided to change the previously announced format.
All six of this season’s events will now be straight knockout, with matches up to and including the quarter-finals being the best of 5 frames, and the semi-finals and final being the best of 7 frames.
Full tournament info can be found here.
The draws and schedule for these events will be made and published a few days before the event commences. These will be visible to all on snookerscores.net.
The first two events of this season’s tour are taking place on the 11th and 12th September at Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds with the closing date for entries this Monday (30th August) at 12 midday.
As the format has now changed to a straight knockout format, the EPSB has decided to expand the circuit from 30 to 32 players.
Two of the best ranked players from the recent Junior Playoffs Order of Merit – Bradley Cowdroy and Luke Flanagan – have been invited and accepted their permanent places on the tour (they will now not be able to play in Under-20 Regional Development Tour events this season).
Should an U21PDT event not reach its full player capacity of 32 players, ‘top-up’ players from the Junior Playoffs Order of Merit will be invited to take part.
