Cooper Joins EPSB as Player Director
The English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB) is today pleased to announce that Joshua Cooper is to join the Board as player director.
The appointment of Cooper follows the culmination of a selection process, from which Cooper emerged as the outstanding candidate to fulfil this role subject to ratification from the membership.
The 26-year-old has been a regular competitor at English Amateur events for almost a decade, finishing in 12th position on the English Amateur Tour in 2017/18 following a semi-final run at Event 4 that season. At the time of writing, he has qualified for the last 16 stage of the 2023 English Amateur Championship, to be held next April.
Cooper also has experience of competing internationally, most notably at the 2022 World Snooker Federation Championships where he won seven matches to reach the quarter-final stage, ultimately losing out to compatriot Lee Stephens. He has played regularly at Challenge Tour and Q Tour level, notably reaching the quarter-finals of 2018/19 Event 3 in Riga.
Joshua Cooper said: “I am delighted to be able to join the Board of the EPSB and to be able to play a part in the continued development of snooker and billiards in England.
“As a player director, I am looking forward to supporting both the Board and Operations team, sharing my experience as a current player who has competed at junior and national level for several years.
“I particularly hope to be able to engage with players across all competitions and to provide direct input to help ensure that the EPSB can provide opportunities for all, regardless of age, gender or ability.”

“It is imperative that with regards to our competition structure in particular, we have direct player input and I am confident that Joshua with his experience and connections within the sport will be able to provide this.
“So far this season we have been greatly encouraged by the entry numbers and are grateful to our members for their continued commitment to amateur snooker and EPSB events. With the input of Josh, allied to the existing team, we are excited for the future and the opportunities that we can provide.”
