Landywood Snooker Club to Sponsor 2024 English Amateur Snooker Championship
The English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB) is today delighted to announce that this season’s English Amateur Championship will be sponsored for the first time by the Landywood Snooker Club.
To be known as the Landywood SC English Amateur Snooker Championship, the 103rd staging of the historic event will see amateur players from across the country looking to follow in the footsteps of famous names including Ray Reardon, John Spencer, Terry Griffiths, Jimmy White Stuart Bingham and most recently 18-year-old junior star Paul Deaville, who lifted the title back in April.
The competition gets underway next month with qualifiers to be held on 7 October 2023 in the North (Leeds), Midlands (Landywood) and South (Coulsdon) regions, to be followed by the two-day national last 16 from 2-3 March 2024.
Prize Money Boost
As in 2023, the final stages will be held at the stunning Landywood Snooker Club, which not only provides world class playing conditions for players with four Xing Pai tables among 12 in total but has also made a significant contribution to snooker at grassroots level through its support of national and amateur events since 2021.
With the support of owner Paul Lloyd and his team at Landywood, we are pleased to confirm that the originally announced prize fund of approximately £3,500 will now increase to a minimum of £5,000.

The English Amateur Championship is rightly recognised as our flagship event in this country given its unprecedented history and we are pleased to be able to significantly increase the prize fund as a result of this support.
“Having visited the club earlier this year I was hugely impressed by the facilities available and I can think of no better venue to host such an important competition.“
Paul Lloyd, Landywood Snooker Club said: “It was a huge honour for the Landywood Snooker Club to be able to host the final stages of last season’s English Amateur Championship and so when the opportunity arose to further support the event, we did not hesitate to get involved.
