The first event of the new English Amateur Tour season takes place this weekend at the Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall.
A total of 96 cueists will compete in the two-day event, which is the first of five tournaments that make up England’s flagship national amateur tour. Included in the line-up are Billy Castle and Craig Steadman, who both won English Amateur Tour titles last season.

Each English Amateur Tour event is a straight knockout with matches being the best of seven frames throughout.
Play will begin at 9am on Saturday, with the last 16 stage onwards taking place on Sunday. The champion will be crowned on Sunday afternoon with the title match scheduled to get underway at 17:00.
