The draw for the last 16 of the 2025 Landywood English Amateur Championship has been made in York during this week’s Victorian Plumbing UK Championship.
The final stages of the 104th edition of snooker’s oldest competition will take place at the Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall on the weekend of 5-6 April 2025 and leading snooker broadcaster Rob Walker was joined by World Snooker Tour Press Officer Roddy Bissett to carry out the draw at the York Barbican.
Last March, Hallworth defeated Callum Downing to win the prestigious title for the first time in his career and join a roll of honour that features numerous world champions and household names.
Having come through one of the three regional qualifiers that saw the field narrowed from 151 to 16, Hallworth will continue the defence of his crown against 36-year-old Richard Binns.
Meanwhile, fellow finalist Downing will face Ryan Davies, who is aiming to complete a unique national grand slam by adding the Landywood English Amateur crown to English Under-21, Under-18, Under-16 and Under-14 titles he has already won.
Aged 15, the reigning European and English Under-16 champion Vladislav Gradinari is the youngest competitor remaining in the line-up at this stage for the second consecutive year and he will face former professional Peter Devlin.
Devlin is one of six former professionals in the draw. Among them is Barry Pinches, a former two-time ranking event quarter-finalist, who will play Jack Harris in the last 16 and could potentially face his son Luke Pinches, who has been drawn to face Tom Maxfield, at the semi-final stage.
The recently-crowned European Seniors champion Craig Steadman will take on Gary Milne while Liam Highfield, who has won a title and made a maximum break on the English Amateur Tour this season, faces Anthony Parsons.
The last 16 draw is completed by 24-year-old Jack Harris, who did not drop a single frame in qualifying, taking on 37-year-old Zachary Richardson.
