The English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB) representatives have been confirmed for the upcoming European Championships in Antalya, Turkey.
Organised by the European Billiards & Snooker Association (EBSA), the championships will be held at Pine Beach Belek Hotel, Antalya, Turkey from 9-22 March 2025 and the winners of the mixed gender and under-21 events will be nominated for a two-year World Snooker Tour (WST) tour card.
England will be represented by eight players in each of the four competitions at the 2025 EBSA European Championships.
Steven Hallworth was the first player to secure his place in Antalya by defeating Callum Downing 6-4 in the final of the 103rd edition of the English Amateur Championship at the Landywood Snooker Club in March 2024.
Six further places were earned via the English Amateur Tour ranking list. The top four is made up by event winners Liam Highfield, Barry Pinches, Ashley Hugill and Kayden Brierley – while Ryan Davies and Harvey Chandler take the additional spots by finishing fifth and sixth respectively.
A further spot has been awarded by the EBSA to last year’s runner-up Craig Steadman, who reached the final of the mixed gender event twelve months ago in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
English Under-21 champion Paul Deaville earned his place in the European Championships by defeating Aidan Gallagher 5-3 in the final of the national championship at The Winchester Snooker Club in Leicester.
Another dominant season on the English Junior Tour saw Oliver Sykes finish top of the ranking list to earn a return to the European Championships. He is joined by the next five highest-ranked eligible players – which includes Kaylan Patel, who will be hoping for another strong showing on foreign soil after reach the final of the World Snooker Federation (WSF) Junior Championship in Morocco last month.
Reigning English Under-18 champion Daniel Boyes will represent his country at the European Under-18 Championship after he defeated O’Shay Scott 5-3 in the final at Barratts Snooker Club in Northampton last year.
Scott will also compete in Antalya as one of the six highest ranked eligible players on the English Junior Tour. He is one of four players, along with Boyes, Ethan Llewellyn and Kaylan Patel, to compete in both the Under-21 and Under-18 categories.
Twelve-year-old William Thomson is the fifth player to compete in multiple categories as he qualifies for both the Under-18 and Under-16 events.
The England line-up for the European Under-16 Championship is made up of the top seven eligible players on the English Junior Tour ranking list – with reigning English Under-16 champion Vladislav Gradinari not being eligible for nomination by the EPSB.
William Thomson is the highest ranked player heading to Antalya as he competes in both the Under-18 and Under-16 competitions.
Fellow 12-year-old Adam Abbas joins Thomson as the youngest players to represent England at the European Championships, while reigning English Under-14 champion Nicholas Ayers is also among the line-up in Turkey.
