The 2025 English Under-16 Championship takes place this weekend (12-13 April) at Club 200 in Manchester.

The English Under-16 Championship, won last year by Vladislav Gradinari, is the national snooker championship for players aged under 16 and features a prestigious roll of honour that includes Gary Wilson, Jack Lisowski, Sam Craigie and Stan Moody.

A field of 58 players will compete for the title including the recently crowned English Under-14 champion Adam Abbas.

VENUE

This year’s English Under-16 Championship will be hosted by Club 200 in Manchester. The address for the venue can be found below:

  • Club 200, 1st floor, 3-9, Hyde Rd, Manchester M12 6BQ

FORMAT

The championship is groups, followed by knockout. The format is as follows:

  • Group Stages: best of 3 frames
  • Last 32: best of 5 frames
  • Last 16: best of 5 frames
  • Quarter-Finals: best of 7 frames
  • Semi-Finals: best of 7 frames
  • Final: best of 9 frames

It is planned that the last 16 onwards will contest the Sunday. 

The draw and schedule will be released on the day and, once available, can be found on WPSBA SnookerScores website. There is a link at the top of the article to where these will be located.

Please ensure you arrive at the venue at 9:15am on the Saturday. Only players present at the club at this time will be entered into the group stage draw.

The dress code for the various stages of the event can be found below:

PRIZE FUND

The prize fund for 2025 is as follows:

  • Winner: £300
  • Runner-Up: £150
  • Semi-Finalists: £75
  • Quarter-Finalists: £50
