English Women’s Tour Announced for 2024/25

Home » English Women’s Tour Announced for 2024/25

The English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB) has today unveiled its exciting plans for women’s snooker during the 2024/25 season which will see women and girls compete for record prize money at national level in England.

The announcement follows the success of the inaugural Winchester Women’s Open Series won by Tessa Davidson last season, organised in partnership with The Winchester Snooker Club.

With the continued backing of club owner Mukesh Parmar, former world champion Shaun Murphy and new sponsor for 2024/25 Oadby Self-Storage, the series will now become the English Women’s Tour, encompassing eight monthly tournaments throughout the season. Each weekend will carry a minimum prize fund of £300.

The top 12 ranked players at the end of the eight events will qualify to play at the 2025 English Women’s Snooker Championship, which will be held at The Winchester for the first time with a guaranteed minimum prize fund of £1,000. The event was won in 2024 by Rebecca Kenna, who in doing so became the first multiple winner of the event in its history.

Events will be open to eligible amateur female players holding EPSB membership for the 2024/25 season. All matches will be played with no points start.

Mukesh Parmar, owner of The Winchester said: “It was fantastic to be able to provide additional monthly competition for female players last season and has only underlined our commitment to support the growth of women’s snooker in England.

“We saw some incredible snooker played at the Winchester, from the top-level quality of our champion Tessa Davidson to exciting young players including Daisy Oliver, and I look forward to welcoming more players during the new season.

“I would like to thank my good friend Shaun Murphy – who presented the trophy last season – as well as Oadby Self-Storage for their additional support.”

Shaun Murphy, 2005 world champion said: “I am proud to be able to continue to support this wonderful series and the continued growth of women’s snooker in England.

“Last season saw Tessa Davidson dominate with four tournament wins, before she impressively defeated Mink Nutcharut at the Grand Finals to claim the overall title and I was honoured to be able to present the trophy to her.

“I wish everyone competing on the tour over the next 12 months every success and I look forward to seeing who will be crowned champion next season!”
