The provisional tournament calendar and selection criteria for the 2022/23 EPSB season are now available.
Please note that the dates for the new Under-16 and Under-21 Series events are to follow and events will not start before October 2022.
Following a careful and thorough review of our competition structure at the end of last season, we are excited to announce a new modernised calendar, aimed at providing sustainable competition for all during the current cost of living crisis affecting players, officials and venues alike.
Our flagship national events including the English Amateur Championship and English Amateur Tour both return with improved prize funds, together with activity for the junior, senior, women and billiards sectors of our sport.
Event entry is set to open from Monday 8 August from 12:00pm GMT, with the first tournaments due to be played across the weekend of 10-11 September 2022. EPSB Membership will be required to play in all EPSB tournaments (excluding the Open Series), and is already available to purchase via WPBSA SnookerScores.
Further information regarding each tournament is now available via the relevant event pages accessible here.
We are excited to provide more information regarding the introduction of two new series of events which will replace the Under-20 Regional Development Tour this season. Both series aim to provide affordable, age-appropriate open competition for our junior players.
Each Series will be held across three regions (North, Midlands and South), with three tournaments per region each season (a total of nine Under-16 and nine Under-21 events). Eligible players will be able to compete in tournaments from both Series.
Prize money for all tournaments will be based upon entry fees received, similar to the popular EPSB Open Series last season and a ranking list will run across each region during the season.
The dates and venues for these events are still to be confirmed and will be announced as soon as possible.
The EPSB Open Series will return during the 2022/23 season. Further information and tournament dates will be released as soon as possible.
Alongside the new season calendar, we are also pleased to confirm our selection criteria for the following season, providing clarity at the outset of the season to allow players to make an informed decision as to events entered.
