The 2025 Next Chapter Financial Planning English Over-55 Championship takes place this weekend (26-27 April) at The Crucible Club in Newbury.

The Championship, won last year by Nick Pearce, is the national snooker championship for players aged over 55 and features a roll of honour that includes former World Championship runner-up Nigel Bond.

A field of 26 players will compete for the title including defending champion Pearce and fellow former champions Ashley Beal and John Rees.

Venue

This year’s English Over-55 Championship will be hosted by The Crucible Club in Newbury. The address for the venue can be found below:

Format

The championship is groups on Saturday, followed by knockouts on the Sunday. All matches will be contested over the best of five frames.

The draw and schedule will be released on the day and, once available, can be found on WPSBA SnookerScores website. There is a link at the top of the article to where these will be located.

Please ensure you arrive at the venue at 9:15am on the Saturday. Only players present at the club at this time will be entered into the group stage draw.

Dress Code

• Up to and including the semi-finals: Level 3 
• Final: Level 4 

Prize Fund

• Winner: £400
• Runner-Up: £200
• Semi-Finalists: £100
